When: December 2-8
Where: Alice Springs and Uluru, NT

What to expect
Arrive in Sydney and prepare yourself for the ultimate Australian Photo Excursion. The Phase One team will distribute camera systems and demo basic set up and usage. We will board a plane and fly to Alice Springs, affectionately known as ‘Alice’, in the Red Centre. The Red Centre is located in the heart of Central Australia comprised of cavernous gorges, boundless desert landscapes, remote Aboriginal communities and a charming pioneering history. Photo opportunities will abound. Working with instructors and fellow students in small groups you will be coached on the best angle and means to achieve the best capture of this great environment.

Situated at the Western end of the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges, Glen Helen Resort is the climax to an adventurous and colourful drive, a little over an hour from Alice Springs. Glen Helen is surrounded by the majestic MacDonnell Ranges, close to West MacDonnell National Park, including Palm Valley, Hermannsburg, Ormiston Gorge, Redbank Gorge and Mt Sonder.

In between seeing all these great sites we will be doing classroom demonstration on how to use Capture One and how to prep files for printing. You will learn all about technical cameras and how and when to use these. We will have available two ALPA systems for your use if so desired.

Rising from the broad desert plain, Uluru/Ayers Rock is Australia's most recognisable natural icon. Ayers Rock stands 348 metres above earth and reaches twice that below, revealing only part of its undulating beauty. For the local Aboriginal people, the Anangu, the World Heritage site holds a special significance. They regard Uluru as a sacred place and will tell you dreamtime stories about the rock’s creation many thousands of years ago. We will stay at the Desert Gardens Hotel.

This workshop will involve photography from sunrise to sunset. If you have never before shot with a medium format 60 megapixel camera system then this is your chance to experience ultimate image quality in the ultimate surroundings.

From Ayers Rock we will fly you back to Sydney.

Detailed information about this adventure will be sent to you from the time you sign up for the workshop until just prior to your arrival. We are also available to answer any questions by phone or email.
